Items Needed at Time of Mortgage Application

There are a few documents that all borrowers must provide to their lender in order to complete their mortgage application. The documents you are required to supply depend on your individual situation.

Everyone Must Provide

  • Paystubs (covering most recent 1 consecutive month of pay)
  • W2s from all employers (for the most recent 2 years)
  • Bank Statements (covering most recent 2 consecutive months, including all pages…even if blank or cleared checks)
  • Retirement Account Statements (covering most recent 2 consecutive months or 1 quarterly statement, including all pages…even if blank)
  • Valide Drivers License

If Divorced or Separated

  • Divorce Decree
  • Separation Agreement

If Self-Employed

  • Federal Income Tax Returns with all schedules for both personal and business (most recent 2 consecutive years)
  • Current Year-to-Date Profit and Loss Statement

Veterans Loans

  • DD 214 or Statement of Service
  • Certificate of Eligibility (your mortgage advisor can also retrieve this on your behalf from the VA)
